Meet Our Talented Team
During their time here, patients will be under the 24/7 supervision and care of our highly trained professional staff. Our team of physicians, psychiatrists, and addiction specialists are all master’s-level or doctoral-level practitioners and CSAT-trained with extensive experience in intimacy disorders and sexual trauma. Our psychiatric nurses, nursing staff, and recreation therapists are experienced in supporting patients through the treatment process and working as an integral part of the treatment team. All staff at Willow Healing Center at The Meadows are handpicked for their expertise and compassion ensuring each of our patients receive the most advanced and comprehensive treatment in love and intimacy disorders.
Vice President of Inpatient Programming
Dr. Whitney Howzell is a dynamic, highly motivated, and conscientious leader with a depth of knowledge and experience in social work, sociology, and sexology. A licensed social worker, Dr. Howzell holds master’s degrees in clinical social work, public health, and education, as well as a PhD in human sexuality studies. She also has extensive experience and training in gender-related issues, attachment, sexual orientation, relationship communication, and sexual trauma.
Much of Dr. Howzell’s work has centered on treating adolescents and families with behavioral and emotional issues, sexual compulsive behavior, sexual trauma, and couples with relational issues. She is an empathic therapist who is passionate about mental health, raising awareness about sexual health, and providing excellent patient care.
Clinical Director
Sabrina Stoorman is the Director of Family Services for Meadows Behavioral Healthcare. She is a Licensed Professional Counselor and Registered Clinical Supervisor through the Arizona Board of Behavioral Health Examiners. Through the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals, she is a Certified Sex Addiction Therapist and Supervisor, as well as a Rainbow Advocate and Educator. She has received additional training in EMDR, DBT, Internal Family Systems, Polyvagal Theory, and Pia Mellody’s Post Induction Therapy model. Much of Sabrina’s specialized work has been focused on sexual, relational, and developmental trauma; intimacy disorders; gender-related issues; and co-occurring disorders.
Sabrina began at Meadows Behavioral Healthcare in 2016 as a Counseling Intern, before working as a Primary Therapist at Gentle Path campus. She played a pivotal role in the development and launch of Willow Healing Center campus in 2017 and held every therapist role on campus before becoming Clinical Director in 2023. She has been honored to facilitate multiple clinician trainings for continuing education credits for both Meadows Behavioral Healthcare and the International Institute for Trauma and Addiction Professionals. Sabrina supported Willow Healing Center through two expansions before being promoted to Director of Family Services for the following campuses: Willow Healing Center, Gentle Path, Claudia Black Center for Young Adults, and Rio Retreat Center. Her core responsibilities include family and partner programming development, training and supervision of clinical staff, and cross-campus collaboration.
Sabrina’s approach as both a supervisor and a therapist is best described as “carefrontation”, valuing empathy, attunement, honesty, and empowerment. She deeply believes in the systemic ripple effect that comes from one’s own personal healing and is passionately committed to fostering an environment for inclusive quality care. Outside of work, Sabrina enjoys time with her loved ones, cuddling her dogs, hiking, yoga, tending to her plants, music, comedy, and trying new things.
Psychologist
Dr. Isabel Nino de Guzman works as a licensed psychologist for Willow Healing Center and Gentle Path at The Meadows, participating in direct patient care and supervising CSAT professionals within the Meadows Behavioral Healthcare family. She trained under Dr. Patrick Carnes' direct supervision and has worked with him conducting research in the field of sex addiction since 2006. Dr. Nino de Guzman has previously held jobs at two of the most reputable programs for addiction treatment in the United States. She also brings a wealth of clinical experience from her career in Peru as a professor, researcher, and author or co-author of several publications.
In her role at Willow Healing Center, Dr. Nino de Guzman conducts specialized psychosexual assessments for patients with sexually addictive behaviors, intimacy disorders, and complex trauma. She has brought to our programs her vast experience on dual disorders and utilizes evidence-based practices to treat patients, knowing the unique patterns of interaction between sexual addiction, mental health disorders, and maladaptive personality patterns.
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Aaron Wilson is the Chief Medical Officer of Meadows Behavioral Healthcare, where he leads the organization’s medical and psychiatric services with a focus on advancing excellence in the treatment of trauma, addiction, and complex psychiatric conditions.
Dr. Wilson earned his medical degree from Tulane University in 2007 and completed his psychiatric residency at the Tulane University Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences. He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology and is also board certified in Addiction Medicine by the American Board of Preventive Medicine. His dual certifications reflect his expertise in both general psychiatry and the specialized care of individuals with substance use and co-occurring disorders.
With extensive experience in psychopharmacology, diagnostic evaluation, and integrated systems of care, Dr. Wilson has developed clinical approaches that emphasize diagnostic clarity, individualized treatment planning, and the coordination of multidisciplinary teams to address the biological, psychological, and developmental aspects of mental health and addiction. He has held numerous leadership positions, including Chief Medical Officer roles at nationally recognized treatment centers in Arizona, and has been instrumental in shaping evidence-based psychiatric and addiction medicine practices.
In addition to his clinical and administrative leadership, Dr. Wilson is deeply engaged in the broader psychiatric community. He is a past President of the Arizona Psychiatric Society and maintains active membership in the American Psychiatric Association, the American Academy of Addiction Psychiatry, and the Arizona Medical Association. His work reflects a commitment to advancing the field through professional collaboration, education, and innovation in patient care.
