Relational & Intimacy Issues Treatment for Women

FROM COMPULSION TO AVOIDANCE AND ALL POINTS IN BETWEEN

At Willow Healing Center, we provide residential treatment for women navigating relational and intimacy challenges, including patterns often referred to as intimacy disorders. These may involve love addiction, sexual compulsion, avoidance of intimacy, or difficulty maintaining healthy, secure connections.

Relational & Intimacy Issues We Treat

We support women experiencing a range of relational and intimacy-related challenges, including:

  • Love and sex addiction or avoidance
  • Betrayal trauma and relationship rupture
  • Attachment wounds and difficulty forming secure connections
  • Compulsive or avoidant intimacy patterns
  • Toxic or unhealthy relationship dynamics

These patterns may be a primary concern or part of a more complex set of challenges, including trauma, mood disorders, substance use, or eating disorders.

Attachment Disorders

Difficulty forming secure, stable connections, often rooted in early relational experiences

Betrayal Trauma

The emotional impact of infidelity, deception, or broken trust within a relationship

Sex Addiction

Compulsive sexual behaviors, often referred to as sex addiction, that feel difficult to control and impact daily life and relationships

Internet Sex Addiction

Compulsive use of online sexual content or interactions that interfere with functioning, connection, and well-being

Pornography Addiction

Repetitive or compulsive pornography use that affects emotional health, intimacy, and relationships

Love Addiction

Patterns of over-attachment, dependency, or seeking validation through relationships, often driven by fear of abandonment

Sexual Compulsion

Recurrent sexual thoughts or behaviors that feel difficult to manage or stop, even when they create negative consequences

Sexual Anorexia

Avoidance of intimacy or sexual connection, often tied to fear, shame, or past relational or traumatic experiences

Toxic Relationships

Patterns of unhealthy, manipulative, or emotionally harmful relationship dynamics that are difficult to leave or change

Understanding Relational & Intimacy Issues

Relational and intimacy challenges are often not just about a current relationship. They reflect deeper patterns in how connection, trust, and emotional safety are experienced.

Many women experience cycles that feel confusing or contradictory, such as seeking closeness while also fearing it, or feeling unable to leave unhealthy relationships despite knowing something is not right. These patterns can impact self-worth, emotional stability, and the ability to form healthy, secure relationships.

Evidence-Based Relational & Intimacy Issues Treatment

  • Experiential therapies including psychodrama and equine therapy

A Women-Centered Environment

Healing in a women-only setting creates space for deeper work around relationships, trust, and self-worth. Many women find it easier to explore vulnerable experiences and long-standing patterns when they feel safe and understood. Willow provides a supportive, inclusive, and affirming environment where women can rebuild self-trust and begin creating healthier, more secure connections with themselves and others.
